Text Box: DOES YOUR WEBSITE WORK IN
INTERNET EXPLORER BUT NOT IN FIREFOX?

Do you have a website created in MS Publisher that Works in Internet Explorer but when viewed in Firefox, the links, pictures, navigation bar, and other things don’t work and the overall appearance is just wrong?

YOU’RE NOT ALONE!

I created several websites in MS Publisher (version 2007) within the last few years, all of which work great in Internet Explorer. And until recently, I didn’t realize my websites weren’t functional in Firefox. In fact, I was losing sales because my customers, who use Firefox, couldn’t click on links on my website, pictures weren’t visible, and the overall page appearance was different in Firefox than what I was seeing in Internet Explorer. WHY didn’t my websites work in another browser?? That was the question I asked myself repeatedly for several weeks. After reading numerous blogs, forums, and desperately looking for answers, I found I was not alone. Apparently there are millions of websites that work fine in Internet Explorer but do not work in Firefox and other browsers.

After reading everything I could find on Microsoft’s website, blogs, forums, etc, I decided to contact a reputable expert computer programmer to see if there was any way my websites could be fixed so they worked in both Internet Explorer and Firefox, while continuing to use MS Publisher as my web design program. He informed me that it was not possible to fix my websites to work in both Internet Explorer and Firefox since MS Publisher is a Microsoft program and is only functional in a Microsoft Browser…..Internet Explorer! The computer programmer suggested that I start from scratch and build my websites in a new NON-Microsoft program so that they work in both Firefox and Internet Explorer (and other browsers). I was shocked by his suggestion since I literally have spent 3 years building my websites, all of which look great in Internet Explorer. And, the time to learn a new program and rebuild my websites would take me another 3 years.

After searching for more answers online, and reading more blogs, forums, and searching Microsoft’s site for answers, I still couldn't find a fix for this, so I decided I may as well learn a new program and start over. I’m not the type of person to give up on things, but this time it appeared I had no choice! I was wasting more time trying to find a fix for this, rather than taking that time to learn a new program and rebuild my websites.

So I purchased a non-Microsoft program and began using it (Dreamweaver). I spent several days trying to learn Dreamweaver. I read through all of the tutorials, attempted to use the templates, did everything I could to learn the program. I even tried to simply copy and paste my MS Publisher files to Dreamweaver so I could get the ball rolling…..HA! What a joke! After being accustomed to MS Publisher and the easy-to-use web design software that it is, I had to face the fact that I wasn’t fond of re-learning a new program and throwing away 3 years of knowledge and hard work that I had with MS Publisher. I mean really, MS Publisher was made for us non-computer programmers - those of us who want to work hard at something, but not reprogram our brains and spend months on things that work fine the way they are……”if it’s not broke, don’t fix it!”

I am not a computer programmer. I took a few classes on computer programming in college - about 15 years ago, but that was way over my head then, and now that the languages of programming have changed in today’s Internet world, I would be no farther ahead if I had stuck with that major in college to begin with! Regardless, I like to fiddle around with web design in easy to use programs (WYSIWYG), and I like to create easy websites with little thought on the hard stuff and more thought on the appearance and user-friendliness of a site.

SO…...after being told my websites created in MS Publisher cannot be fixed to work in both Internet Explorer and Firefox, and after trying to learn a new program, I decided to go back to the drawing board. I spent several days going back and forth between Internet Explorer and Firefox, checking my links, pictures, navigation bars, appearance, you name it. I spent a lot of time comparing just 1 of my websites in multiple browsers, until I discovered the solution…...MYSELF!!!!

After figuring out the multiple solutions and applying them to my MS Publisher files, I was able to view my website in Internet Explorer and Firefox - and they appeared identical! And, my website worked in Firefox! Everything worked, including links, pictures, appearance, everything! Don’t get me wrong it took me some time to revise my site in MS Publisher to be functional in Firefox, but once I got the hang of it, I was able to fix my entire site in just a few days (and this particular site has just under 300 pages.) Nonetheless, I figured it out and it works!!!!!

And, I can prove it works! I have several websites, all of which I will provide to you and you can view them in both Internet Explorer AND Firefox to see for yourself!

I understand how frustrating it is to not have your website working in other browsers. After all, half of the world today is using a browser other than Internet Explorer. I didn’t realize that, but have since discovered that a majority of Internet users are using browsers other than Internet Explorer, such as Firefox, Safari, Opera, and others. MS Publisher is a Microsoft – based program that is meant to work only in a Microsoft Browser…….Internet Explorer. It is not intended to work in non-Microsoft Browsers.

However, there are solutions to have a website created in Microsoft Publisher work in both Internet Explorer and Firefox!!!!

Including this site, my websites are all MS Publisher files (2007 version) and with some changes I have made them functional in both Internet Explorer and Firefox. Now, I finally have customers who can use my site in Firefox!

If you are interested in getting the simple fixes so that your links, pictures, navigation bar, appearance, etc work in Firefox and Internet Explorer, please save yourself the time and get help now! I promise you won’t be disappointed. I have fixed my websites and I KNOW it’s possible. In fact, after I fixed my sites, the computer programmer who thought it was impossible for my sites to be fixed in MS Publisher was shocked to hear that I had fixed my sites to work in Firefox! That is why I’ve created this website, to let others know that it’s possible. You don’t have to spend months learning a new program, you don’t have to start over and create your websites again….believe me. I was in the same place you are a few months ago.

If you have a website created in MS Publisher and it works fine in Internet Explorer, but it isn’t working in Firefox….
